Process

Thank you for your interest in TRIALS! We welcome applications from college students and graduates across the nation.

Our application invites you to present your academic record in the context of your personal circumstances. You’ll have the chance to share information about your transcript, extracurricular and work activities, family background, and the experiences that have shaped your interest in a legal education.

Registration and the “Apply Now” option will become available on our website on October 15, 2026, and will close on January 15, 2027, at 11:59 p.m. ET.

Once the application portal opens, the first step is to create an account. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with your login information and instructions for beginning your application.

As part of the application, you will submit a two-page personal statement. This is your opportunity to share information not captured elsewhere—such as why you’re interested in law school, an explanation of an academic inconsistency, or your professional goals. Whatever you choose to write, we hope your statement will give us a fuller understanding of who you are and why you wish to attend TRIALS. 

After applications are reviewed, we will contact the candidates who will be interviewed. If selected, final-round applicants will be asked to provide official transcripts and two letters of recommendation. Please have those documents prepared in the event that you are selected to interview. The final round includes multiple interviews.
